Description

The KV50-200 MK2 Test System is a high power AC test set specifically designed for precise insulation testing. It is equally suitable for both development and routine testing of electrical insulation systems and plant. The system comprises a control unit and a separate oil-filled high voltage transformer, connected by 5-meter cables.

The control unit is equipped with comprehensive features for precise control, metering, and protection. As a standard feature, secondary tap metering ensures accurate voltage measurement. The output voltage and current are displayed on large linear analogue instruments, providing clear readings. Additionally, a variable electronic trip allows users to set the trip current between 10% and 110% of the rated output, offering flexibility and control during testing.

Mobility and convenience are key features of the KV50-200 MK2 Test System. The high voltage transformer is housed in a robust oil-filled steel tank with swivel castors, enabling easy movement and transportation. The HV output is facilitated by a low-discharge oil-filled bushing, ensuring efficient performance. Moreover, this versatile system can handle the testing of capacitive, resistive, and inductive test objects.

To ensure the safety and protection of the system, variable electronic trips continuously monitor the output current, while a fixed over-current trip is installed on the primary side of the transformer. The variable trip can be adjusted in 10% increments, ranging from 10% to 110% of the rated output current. Furthermore, fuses are implemented to safeguard the input and control supplies. It is important to connect the earth terminal on the transformer to a low impedance local earth for proper grounding.
