Description
Rely on the BP25 from Trotec, which was tested by the consumer portal VERGLEICH.ORG and won the prize for best price-performance ratio!
If moisture often forms in the same place, it doesn’t take long for mould to develop. Whether in private or commercial use – the high-quality BP25 pyrometer dew point scanner gives you the opportunity to check surfaces such as interior walls and facades for potential mould hazards caused by cold spots. You can quickly and easily measure wall surface temperatures contactlessly via infrared and at the same time automatically determine the dew point temperature value. On the backlit LCD display, the measured values can be clearly and easily read, even in unfavourable lighting conditions. With the help of the integrated 20:1 dual laser, the measuring spot on the respective measured material is displayed.
To determine the dew point, the device also measures the current room temperature and the moisture content of the air. Thanks to its acoustic and visual alarm function based on the traffic light principle and the integrated bar graph indicator, the BP25 offers you quick orientation even with larger measuring surfaces, whether the dew point has been reached or not at a measuring point and whether there is a possible danger of mould due to condensation. Since a long-term increase in relative humidity of approx. 70% is sufficient for mould to develop on material surfaces, the BP25 warns you acoustically and visually a few degrees before the actual dew point is reached. It is therefore worthwhile using the BP25 to check cold wall areas at an early stage to detect the formation of condensation.
With 20:1 optics the measuring spot always in view
With the infrared pyrometer BP25 you can measure the surface temperature of walls, materials and objects without contact, i.e. without touching the measured material. To be able to estimate the exact range of the measurement (measuring spot), the BP25 has a dual laser pointer. This projects two laser dots onto the surface to be measured, which precisely mark the diameter of the measuring spot. In this area the temperature value is recorded by an infrared sensor and an average value is calculated. The following applies: the smaller the measuring spot, the more accurate the measurement, and the further away the measuring device is from the measuring object, the larger the measuring spot diameter. Thanks to its geometric resolution of 20:1, the hand-held meter allows you to take accurate measurements even from a distance of several meters.
Is there a risk of mould or is everything in the green zone?
Since the BP25 has an air temperature sensor and a humidity sensor (measuring range from 0% to 100% relative humidity) in addition to the infrared surface temperature measurement, the dew point temperature is automatically calculated from these 3 values. In addition to the exact values, a sound signal and/or the colour of the LCD display indicate whether the measured values are in the critical range. A green display means “everything is fine”, orange indicates that the measured values are approaching the critical dew point value and a red display clearly indicates that the determined temperature is dangerously close to the dew point or that the temperature has already reached or fallen below the dew point and condensation can form. With the ever faster beeping sound signal you can also work by ear if you wish.
Particularly with large-area measurements on walls, you can quickly scan where critical points are located with the acoustic and/or optical alarm – without having to pay attention to the exact measured values. In addition, the bar graph indicator shown on the display also provides quick orientation by means of an easy-to-understand bar chart and shows you schematically on a scale of 0 % to 100 % how much the measured values have already approached the dew point temperature.
Versatile in use
Due to the wide temperature measurement spectrum from -50 °C to 260 °C, the flexible BP25 is not only recommended for use as a dew point scanner but also for other applications. Due to the contactless infrared measurement, you are reliably protected from surfaces that are too hot or too cold.
Whether heating systems, hot pipes, tanks, boilers, engine blocks, switch boxes or deep-freeze storage – measure temperatures without burning your hands or “sticking” to icy cold surfaces. The BP25 can even be used for preparing baby food if you want to quickly check the correct drinking temperature of the bottle from the outside, for example.
Clear form language and functional design
As you can see, the BP25 in the practice-optimised Trotec design is convincing all along the line. With its compact dimensions, the device weighing only 163 g can be carried comfortably in a jacket pocket. A practical insert pocket for attaching to a belt is also included in the scope of delivery.
The infrared thermometer is operated wirelessly using the supplied 9-volt block battery. Thanks to the battery status indicator in the LCD display, you always have the current charge level in view. For maximum runtime, the BP25 automatically switches itself off when not in use, saving energy – so you can perform countless measuring operations with the BP25 pyrometer dew point scanner!
